Roo-Weekly Update 11.16.15

Good Evening Roosevelt International Middle School Families:
Dr. Casillas here with your weekly school update.
We have just completed 10 weeks of school. It has been full of learning both inside and outside of our classrooms.   I am excited about the growth  I have seen in our students. In this season of giving Thanks, I want to thank all our families and friends for their tremendous support you provide for our students, our teachers, and our school community.
The end of this progress reporting period is just around the corner. The last day of this marking period is December 4th with the end of the Semester on January 29th. Finish this term strong Rough Riders.
Our library staff and our PTSA is actively looking for a few helpful individuals who can help out with our Scholastic Book Fair scheduled for early December. Our students enjoy shopping at the Fair and our school receives books for our library. This can only happen with the assistance of parent volunteers. Please contact Mr. Ferrill or Roosevelt PTSA if you are interested in any volunteering capacity.
In support of our district's vision of college and career readiness and to bring attention to the college application season, SGT approved College Shirts(or Sweater) Fridays. In addition to their Roosevelt uniform top, students can  wear a college associated top. Khaki bottoms are still required.
Thanksgiving Break is next week. All district offices and schools are closed  November 23rd-27th. Classes will resume on November 30th.

Have a great week of learning Rough Riders. Always do your best by working hard and making good choices.
Until next time, good bye and good night.

Buenas noches Familias Roosevelt Middle School Internacional:

Roo-Weekly Update 11.2.15

Good Evening Roosevelt International Middle School Families:
Dr. Casillas here with your weekly school update.
Congratulations to Mr. Mosler’s for winning the Red Ribbon Week Door Competition. His students decorated their classroom door to promote a healthy and strong mind. The month of October ended with a fun Halloween lunch Thriller and Ghostbusters dance by our ASB.
This Tuesday-Thursday, November 3-November 5 is a modified day schedule. School will be dismissed at 1:24 for parent conferences. If your student is not participating in a Prime Time activity, please make arrangements for afterschool. There will be no late buses on those days.
Teachers and counselors are making contact with parents for conference. If you would like to schedule a conference, please contact your student’s teacher as spots are filling up.
We are almost at 100% for the LCFF and Federal Survey Cards. We are missing about 190 cards each. Please help us achieve our goal and get those cards into the office. Ms. Murphy can provide you with a new card if needed.
Just to let you know, next Wednesday, November 11th, school and district offices will be closed in honor of Veteran’s Day.
School Tours have begun for families interested in enrolling at Roosevelt for next school year. If you know of future Rough Riders, have them sign up at our website under School Tours.
Have a great week of learning Rough Riders. Always do your best by working hard and making good choices.
Until next time, good bye and good night.
